XP is much more stable than ME, and provided you have good drivers, it won't crash as much. It is also easier to track why your computer is crashing, and find out fix the faults. It should fix the problems.

BTW, if you are going to use a pirated copy of XP, be sure to get the keygen progam so you can register it and get the Windows update to work properly (or at all for that matter). I maaay be able to tell you where to get it if you're interested.
