Too bad nobody else in Europe thinks like this. Since you let the war in Bosnia rage on for years, and collectively wrung your hands at Kosovo.

The U.S. is the biggest POTENTIAL threat to peace. (a small yet important difference)

The US >>IS<< the biggest threat to world peace. We're going to launch a war to stomp every mass murdering two bit dictator trying to get nukes and go big time. If we don't we end up w/ blackmailers like NK. I have zero problem with being a part of the biggest threat, I like it.

World peace is the holy cow of the left, to me it's a burger on the hoof.

Right, you're doing this all in the name of human rights, sure. That's probably the reason why the US is beside Somalia the only nation that hasn't signed the "Rights of Children charta" of the UN...
Anyhow, don't be so proud of "stomp every murdering etc.". You actually supported a lot of cruel massmurdering dictators (like Saddam, back in those times when he only nerve-gased the Shiites and didn't invade Kuwait).
If it were for nukes, you should take all your forces and up to North Korea - those guys are really completely nuts and actually THREATEN peace, while Saddam was busy suppressing his own poor people (which is damn bad), but NOTHING points to him being involved in the terrorist attacks nor islamic terrorism in general!
The only thing the US attack does is making the whole muslim world even more angry. Even in Turkey, your allies, a vast majority is against the war, yet you force their heads of state to let you use their bases. They'll be pissed at that, you can guarantee. The US want their war against Iraq, and as usual they don't care what everyone else says in this world, creating more conflict.

From a logical perspective this result is logical. The US are the only ones threatening force and projecting it over large distances. Iraq/NK can grumble their idle threats but the would only affect their own region (it is not like NK can send a carrier battlegroup to lay waste to Sydney or London...). As such the US is the greatest threat to peace, but then again as some say war could lead to decent results and might sometimes be necessary. I think the reasons should be the humanitarian ones and not to raise cash for your buddies in the arms industry, but then again I am not a American citizen and i didn;t vote Bush in.

The poll has choices between Iraq, NK and USA in the year 2003. In 2003, the biggest threat is the US, of course, but the whole reason is so that in future years Iraq or NK will not be. What would you rather have, superpower NK or Iraq or superpower US?

As such Israel and potentially Japan are dangerous because they might seek to revise the present carving up of the world.

The United States is dangerous because it is immensely powerful and is allowed to use force against it's own citizens more excessively than any other western nation.

Europe is only a threat to world peace if it is pushed hard enough - so that the Europeans begin to share a common worldview. However the chance that they will fight against each other over economic issues is greater. l

If those were the options, then the US definitely. No question. But.. in the future.. I could see NK becoming something of a threat for all of us. Iraq won't be a big threat in the future..
But I have to remind that we don't really mind it being a threat (the US) because we're not it's enemies. If NK would be threat, we could be it's enemies. There's a difference.
I think there less than 1 people in this board who would like to see NK be the bigger threat than the US.
I don't like to see anyone as a threat, except maybe the United States of Finland.

If it would be up to me, sure. If it were up to me, we could also put away visas and other things making it more difficult to travel, also taxes, 100% free trade and everything. Not a problem at all.
