    1. I use eMule (Have tried most other filesharing apps, but they were all crap... well... I couldn't even start overnet)

    2. Filesharing doesn't destroy the music/video industry, it only makes it better, since people now have a chance to review the songs/movies, before deciding if it's worth to buy. Of course this makes it harder for those who makes crap movies/music, since people realise what crap they were about to buy, and stops themselfes in time...
This space is empty... or is it?

          Oh well.

For me, if I want to do big-ass downloads I drag my computer to my parent's work ... get six 56k modems simultaneously downloading ... and sweet as (~40KB/s).

In NZ our broadband sucks. It is limited to 128K (16KB/s) and has a 5GB international cap. And THAT costs $NZ65 a month. Worst of all ... if you go over you're cap ... you are charged at 20cents a megabyte.

            And the original questions:

            1) DC++ (I hate direct connect for being laggy on slow connections, and ads).

            2) I believe it will primarily hurt the big-ass publicity hyped bands/pop-*****es. The average unrecognised band benefits from file sharing.

I regard filesharing in the same way as public libraries ... I can get a book out for free at the library ... and then buy it because so I have access at any time, in much the same way as a CD is more reliable than an internet donwload ... which may not always exist. And you're not going to tell me that the publishing industry has greatly faltered since the advent of libraries.
