    I didn't know that.

And...isn't it the rule that if you go to a state school which has lower rates for residents (e.g. the University of California), that after spending one year there, you can declare yourself to be resident and pay the lower rate? Something about the constitutional right to travel and all that.

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Nope. Residency is different per state, and probably requires citizenship and a verifiable address (ie, oncampus housing probably wouldn't cut it).

If you enroll full time after moving to the state then yes you will have to pay out of state tuition. If, however, he enrolls in one of the Italian schools he spoke about and then takes part in the student exchange program he will continue to pay what ever he would at the Italian school but would attend classes in the U.S.. I had several friends from the EU who did this while I was a student at UC Santa Barbara.

Thanks a lot, I'm now checking all of those schools and links you provided me.

Oerdin: you almost convinced me who knows, maybe I'll pop up in California one day

And no, money is not a big issue, (if a very expensive school really outclasses the others than I would probably go there) but I just want to be sure that I would not spend thousands and thousands of dollar for something that I could easily have obtained in the EU too.

MIT is a great school. Once you get in, you can just hang around until graduation, no need to do any work.

I'm just taking care of all the possibilities, although since I have an American diploma an American university would have been kind of cool. And my parents seems very impressed by MIT, so now there are high chances I might end up there (if I'm admitted of course).

Although I'm looking everywhere, I also looked at Cambridge, at the AUP (American University of Paris), and many others, but for those I will need to obtain my Italian (EU) Diploma before asking for admission (which means waiting till July, which might be too late)

Now it all depends on how good(bad) I will do on my TOEFL test, and the other tests required., than send admission forms to many universities, and than pick the best of the ones which accepted me (if any).
