  • That "Millionaire" Show To Air. What Do You Think ?

If you don't know, this television show sets up a guy, who works construction, to meet 25 women.
In his day-to-day real life, he makes 20k or something a year working construction.
The show tells these women that he's worth 50 million.
They try to be the one he chooses to be with.

Yep, the network is promoting dishonesty.
Yep, the women are evidently "gold diggers".

Are ALL wrong ? NONE wrong ?

Gosh. There are just so many levels on this.
    What do you think?

Not being a fan of reality shows (except for survivor) my wife and I usually ridicule any reality ads when we see then on TV. (she does like Amer, Idol)
But the thought of scamming 25 potential gold diggers does seem slightly appealing. I just want to know which episode they tell the wenchs. That's the only one I want to see. Hope Joe survives that episode in one piece

I wish there was a way that they could all lose.

Survivor, yeah thats what I watch.
Fear Factor and their poor culinary habits lost my t.v.

Everyone involved in the show is acting immorally, so I don't see any allure in watching it.

The women are immorally seeking to marry a stranger because of his money.

The man is immorally participating in a plan to trick these women for his own financial gain.

The network is Fox, so 'nuff said.

I don't feel sympathy for any of them. I guess they all deserve one another.

                The Networks Win!

I have honestly become desensitized to the pitiful side of human nature that reality shows exploit. I am no longer outraged by these outlandish premises and have come to accept that reaity shows are in fact "acting lite" and "an outdoor improv workshop". Photogenic and overly outgoing 'regular' people are in these shows are neither regular nor representative of the popualtion at large.

                Bring on thegolddigging fun!

I wonder how much they are paying this guy to do this.

                    Hmmm

I don't think I will watch this one (unless the women are really hot of course ) but I did see the add for this one. Who knows, wouldn't be funny/ironic if one of the women truly fell for him and didn't care that he wasn't rich ?? It actually might be interesting to see how/when they tell the women and how they react. I'm sure that several will lose interest in him because of his "dishonesty" and "deceit" claiming to value honesty and saying "it wasn't about the money".

They have this thing set up to the extremes though . . . a woman thinks she is going with a millionaire and it turns out that he earns less than 20k. You don't have to be a goldigger to hope that your future spouse might earn more than that.

its hard to work up any pity for gold diggers.
id like to see the show done in reverse

bring out the gold digger men and watch them squirm
when they find out its some poor waitress.
i don't know , is it just me that wants to watch some men squirm for a change.....
im sure im asking this on the wrong forum

The whole concept disgusts me. Some people will find it entertaining and will watch it. I will not. *shrug*

I really wonder how on earth somebody thinks that this would NOT be a 'scripted' show...
(ie, they're all actors, this is bad social porn for morons, we shouldn't watch this BS.)

The concept itself is rather funny, because they both try to gain advantage by lying to eachother...

But as usual, how the hell can they make an interesting programme about it? It's much like Big Brother... except that Big Brother didn't have any amusing aspect at all

(I have never watched reality Tv before, not even survivor, which is just as boring as all the rest)

I do think reality tv originates from America... I recall shows about:AMERICA'S MOST DANGEROUS PURSUITS or Hot cops (?) or America's most wanted, anyway things where ppl get to see the most vulgar, uninteresting aspects of life (like, seeing drunk ppl puke on a cop's car, seeing a nutcase drive square into a wall).

Now that kind of shows thrives here too hooray!
