Actually, there were alot of reality T.V. shows in Europe in the mid nineties. But I think one of the first shows that was reality based was "The Real World" on MTV.

These shows suck, but I do want to see the looks on these Bimbos faces when they are told that he has no money.

Actually I watched it once. That was way way too much reality for me.

i don't understand the appeal of the Osbournes...it's just an Indy Reality show...they get ratings by saying it's the Anti-Reality show, but really, it's just a reality show aimed at goths punks and metalheads

i don't know , is it just me that wants to watch some men squirm for a change.....
im sure im asking this on the wrong forum
Ah, but that wouldn't work. If you've seen the ads for Joe Millionaire (the name of this upcoming show), you'd see that they've selected a pretty good looking guy (subjective, I know, but he's pretty much got magazine model looks). If they selected a good looking female and tried the reverse situation you long for, no guy would care if she was rich or not.

                Otherwise summed up as follows.

Female mentality - He's rich? Interested. He's good looking too? Bonus.

Male mentality - She's good looking? Interested. She's rich too? Bonus.

                * note: I'm not saying this is my mentality nor that it is universal, just what's prevalent and on TV.

                    Well stated Kontiki.

I hate reality shows, but this one has a pretty interesting premise. It may be the first one I watch.

Just watched it tonight, wasn't too interesting. Too much prissy stuff like all the time spent on gowns and dancing. But from what the preview sounded like the next show might be better- they are taking all those prissy girls and taking them to the stables to hard manual labor and shovel ****! Plus it seemed like fights were starting to break among them, so I'll probably watch it next week.

You just don't like men, do you?

The premises for reality shows are becoming unrealistically absurd. Eventually they'll just collapse and the genre will die. At least I hope so.

The won't die, they'll multiply. Primarially because they are dirt cheap to make and red necks every where tune in to watch them.
