Seriously, it is a bad thing for Bush to be assasinated (aside from the fact that he's a human being). The death of the President by a terrorist would have severe reprecussions politically. The last thing we want is Bush to become a martyr (which is probably what will happen.)

He won't be assassinated IMO... he'll lose in 2004 and fade away into the Corporate world just like his daddy (present oil liason between American corporations and the Saudi's I might add).
To us, it is the BEAST.

I think he could make it. The key to this is if he kickes out Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadam Insane.

At which point it would be fun to see which Democrate becomes the sacrifical lamb.

A few - FDR had 3 different VP's in his time. There's been a few others, IIRC.

BTW, if this thread takes on the character of either a "dead pool" thread, or someone starts posting crap wishing, advocation, or speculatively talking about Presidential assassination, the thread will be gone.

I thought this thread was about whether he would survive politically. In which case everything hinges around Iraq. Sadly I can see him being reelected if there is an offensive against Iraq, and thus this is just one more reason there should be no such offensive. If not then I hope for all our sakes that he is GONE within a few years, and we can have someone who knows the definition of cooperation as the leader of the free world.

Oh, and John Howard can go with him too. :doitnow:

In worst case he could be elected three times. It would be realy bad. (BTW what he need to do for his third election? Congres support?)

I hope he will botch invasion to Iraq and angry crowd would force him to do a lill' abdication.

"advocation, or speculatively talking about Presidential assassination, the thread will be gone."
MichaeltheGrea don't wory who would post such thing? We are all just bad english writers with unclear pronounciation.

                  One hopes not.

The best thing to do would be to crash a couple of planes into the national conventions of both parties. Not that I'd ever condone that, just that it'd be a good idea

I think I can advocate assassination, its sort of free speech, not that I'd ever do such a thing, its just a good idea.

The 22nd Ammendment prevents that. To change it would probably require another Ammendment.

If Bush were a real "kingmaker,", he would pick his successor now and make him VP for his next term. FDR did this with Truman, Eisenhower with Nixon and Reagan with Bush. Carter (Mondale) and Clinton (Gore) tried but failed, primarily because these gentlemen were not presidential material to begin with.

Cheny makes a good VP, but his health and age rule him out for president.

Frist is looking real good, now. He might be a good choice for VP in 2004 and president in 2008.

Half the population of the US disagree with you else Gore wouldn't have been a whisker away from being President.

Gore would be useless as Pres. Bush is doing well.

I would never advocate the death of anyone, but isn't it a double standard to say people aren't allowed to hope for the death of him but are for Bin Laden? You yourself had such an avatar.

Yes, Bin Laden is a very evil man but Bush has had more people killed, so in some people's eyes he could be seen as just as evil.

Just thought I'd bring up that point.

The civilians of Afghanistan. More were killed there than in the towers, so some would see that as worse.

Not saying this is my opinion, just making a point that it's a little hypocritical to allow the advocation of death of some people, but not others.
