And I'm a strong opponent of legalising marijuana, mind.
      I thought you were liberal?

You'll notice that I don't generally quote NRA research, because I don't care if guns kill thousands of people or not. It's the principle of property rights that I care about. Personally, I have no opinion on the quality of either side's research into "defensive gun use", etc., because I don't think that has anything to do with whether guns should be legal. ****, there could be 2 million gun deaths a year and I'd still oppose gun control.

Liberal? What an astoundingly silly thought.

I'm a civic republican (on the traidtional freedom scale) and a radical. Which means I believe that freedom is power over your own governance to as large an extent as possible. And that drug users are currently a weak group with little power in society. And that this can only be rectified by stopping the harmful effects of drugs, that are keeping them back.

Unlike an american-style liberal I'm not for a ban for their own best, but because I believe society would be a better place if they had a bigger voice. I don't want to rule over them, I want them to rule over me on an equal basis.

If our annual murder rate was approaching 2 million there is no way you or anyone else could stop the government from taking action, 2nd amendment or no 2nd amendment.

I've got a CD carrier thing made out of Hemp. It's like Jute or Sisal-based Burlap, except much less hard (and I assume itchy).

Well, if the government tried to completely ban guns, I'd only hope that gun owners would assassinate as many politicians as possible.
