I can't stand watching shows with laughter in them (especially canned) for the same reasons as Asher, but I also feel that it cheapens the good jokes and sometimes even makes it hard to hear what they're saying.

Laughtracks and audience laughter annoy me more than adds to the show, mostly because they always find things funny I think isn't funny. And to have people constantly laughing at bad jokes bothers me.
I don't know, sometimes I find that canned laughter makes me laugh at things that I normally wouldn't. And laughing makes me feel good, even if it is a cheap coaxed one.

Its kind of like drugs... when I smoke them I laugh at lots of things I normally wouldn't. But I don't care, thats why I smoke them.

Yeah, Mobius, what's wrong with your sense of humor .

Letterman is the funnier talk show host, and the 'experts' all concur. The fact that he's won the Emmy for best late night talk show for 5 straight years ( ), shows something. Don't 'cha think?

And now Paul (Schaffer) is getting some movie parts!!

Leno owns Letterman, IMHO. But Conan is the best of the three.

There is a show on Comedy Central now called "Sports Night".

It used to be on ABC, and I loved it. It was funny and entertaining.

It also had no laugh track or audience laughter, you had to decide if it was funny or not.

On Comedy Central, however, they have put in canned laughter and I can't stand to watch it anymore.

                  ACK!

                    Your wrong, Tuberski.

The FIRST season was all laugh track on ABC. Then after that they took it out (ABC didn't like it but went along).

When Comedy Central plays the first season shows they leave the laugh track in, but when they play later shows there is no laugh track at all.

Very well, I still liked it better without the laugh track, I must not have watched the first season, although all the episodes were familiar to me.

Nothing at all seeing as I have to deal with you on a regular basis.

Letterman is the funnier talk show host, and the 'experts' all concur.
He does seem to have a brilliant rapport with his guests - but the rest of the show stinks!

They had this 'Lettermanothon' here a few weeks back with shows spanning his entire career - the old stuff was genuinely funny!

Now it's just tired and he's old.

The fact that he's won the Emmy for best late night talk show for 5 straight years ( ), shows something. Don't 'cha think?
Shows that the people that give these awards are just a whole bunch of old Walruses, or don't know any better. If you're saying that Letterman is the best of the bunch in the US then it shows that American Tee Vee is worse than I thought!

Next you'll say that all the oscars go to deserving people and aren't just industry pats on the back!
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Mobius, Mobius, Mobius... we must get you a sense of humor, old chap.

It is obvious that Letterman is the funnier host. Leno is horrible. He is like a stand up comic that people boo!

I'm thinking of the one when Conan went to Kmart with that designer to try on clothes.

                              Ha!

                                Mike Bullard!

He, atleast, is not afraid to embrace his crapiness.

I'll be surprised if any non-canadians actually know who he is...
