How many job interviews did you have?
Did you make some alterations on the way your CV was written?

BTW what is the unemployment rate in Britain? (I think it's low)

A good solution may be to just scan the newspaper ads for something that you think you would like doing and give it a shot, even if it's not on your field.

Also don't forget to send out CVs to companies that are on your field (or even those that aren't but that you think are qualified and would like to work in them).

Low, but a lot of companies are retaining workers at the moment while not taking on new ones.

No, perhaps I want advice from people who have a bit of experience in these things. Neither you nor Stew qualify in this. I mean, Christ, you are either teenagers or not far beyond...

I wasn't giving advice, I was making a comment about your unbelievably bad interaction skills.

                You wonder why you're unemployed?

I think Jesus would be a bit older than that by now.

Try sales. Anyone who can think on their feet and doesn't get discouraged too easily can be successful in that.

Personally, I recommend stockbroker/investment advisor, but that's just me.

Do you still love biochemistry? Are you good at reasearch? I don't think that private industry generally is big on writing monster reports.

No one in biochemistry will touch me with a bargepole, I just fall flat on my face with interviews and assessment centres and all the stupid crap they throw at me. It would have been easier if I'd never been to university in the first place as I am just out of my depth.

Don't take this the wrong way, but a more positive attitude might help.

Most people have no idea how to do their jobs, and yet, that doesn't stop them from holding said jobs.

You are when it comes to a career.

You've got a degree, your credentials have given you interviews, it's how well you do in the interviews which is killing you from getting a job in your field.

And if this thread is any indication, it's not a big mystery why.
