No, the federal government is constitutionally obligated to be bilingual, as is the government of New Brunswick. However, all other governments in Canada are not obligated to use both official languages on their signs.
And there are almost 50% separatists in Quebec. If it weren't for "money and the ethnic vote"...
And vancouver does have crime - lots of druggies breaking+entering.I refute it thus!
"Destiny! Destiny! No escaping that for me!"

I think there still would be, it's nationalism and language. Not just language.
Too bad you can't simply enjoy it like the rest of us.

Government services are provided in both languages in all provinces, at the federal and provincal level.

When people said "No" in the last referendum, they expected Canada could change, but it doesn't seem so. I'm myself very disappointed with this stagnation at the federal level.

So much anger FrosT37.
I am not sure why a sign several thousand kilometers from Quebec would upset you. Or why forcing people out here to speak French will somehow quell the separatists.
But I agree with your assessment of Federal politics. My suggestion: vote anything but Liberal.

If Quebec ever separates they'll start in on
the Cree not speaking french.

Wow, talk about a threadjacking..."Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown . . . reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency" - Walt Whitman

The December Crisis
No Ozz, FrosT37 is right. For I have seen the error in my ways.
Obviously FrosT37 is on to a key reason for Quebec unrest: a sign that says "Grrr, bark, woof, good dog".
No doubt this is an evil sign designed to oppress the poor downtrodden Quebecers. And can there be any doubt that they are always being oppressed by the evil Anglos. And they do get such a raw deal out of Confederation.
This could be nothing short of a national emergency in the making. We all need to take swift action. Strike a Senate Committee! Give Quebec six Supreme Court seats instead of three. Elect another dopey PM from Quebec! Give the Montreal Canadiens an automatic berth to the Stanley Cup final! Buy a Celine Dion CD!
The very future of our country is at stake here.
