  • GOD and the black hole

I watched this program on black holes and discovered something intresting.
The astrophysist said that we can't see a black hole but we know they are there by there influince on the solor system.

I thought that was odd to readly except something that could not be seen.
Like GOD cannot see but know GOD exist by the influince on life.

The influence of the black holes can be measured scientifically.

The influence of God cannot be. --Doesn't mean it doesn't exist; it just means you have to take it on faith.

          What Zkribbler said.

Nothing science has found in any way indicates their is or isn't a God. Personal statements to the effect of "I know God exists because I feel his presence in my life" are meaningless, as people often feel things that aren't real.

          Black Holes = science
          God = faith

Does it matter? You say God, I say random chance. You say To-may-to, I say To-mah-to.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Imagine, a scientist admitting such a thing.

Well, according to this, God has a backside, and "moons" Moses:
Exodus 33:20-23 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
So maybe black holes are God's toilets.

Ah it doesn't matter until you admit such thing.

Dude, I am a scientist. At least a scientist in training. I just don't see a conflict between religion and science.

Well, most religion. Fundy type creationists that ignore scientific evidence bug me.

Let science deal with the how and I'll let religion deal with the why.

What are the odds of random chance?

so random that life can only be on this planet then?
