Does anyone think that this is somewhat excessive?
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Well, to be fair, some of their biggest military rivals have basket-case economies. It's hard to assess the defense "budget" of a nation with toilet-paper currency. Especially if they haven't even used it to pay their troops for several months.

What does having an army have to do with being a terrorist?

What do you have such a huge army for? Parading?

Well, regardless, you have not said anything to back up your claim that we are terrorists. But let's stop this thread from wandering too far off topic.

If the US want to spend what they spend on defence I don't really see what business it is of other countries

That is true. Our government just decides it has too much money floating around so why not build a few more planes just in case. We're kinda weird.

Maybe we just don't want to get caught with our pants down again like in WWII.

Nothing like a high tech army to disuade would-be Nazis from showing up at your door.

in WW2, the US mainland was never in danger of being invaded, let alone by the Nazis.
