I don't object to Lennon, seeing as he is perhaps the best-loved musical figure in British history. In that light I can see him being on the list.

Lennon is much more deserving than Shakespeare who also made it.

Why Di? A no one royal, who will be totally forgotten in 100 years among the top 10 Britons of all time?

I.K Brunel was more important than Princess Di.
                I refute it thus!

Well, I'm no Shakespeare fan by any means, but I'm even less of a Beatles fan.

Well, that just makes two strikes against your taste...

But Lennon is probably the most popular British musician of all time, so his inclusion is fair.

Seriously, though, I just can't understand why Shakespeare's works are considered good. To me, they were the epitome of boredom, although perhaps part of it was I hate dredging through the language.

Perhaps because you're an uncivilized redneck who'd rather fire his pistols into the air at the next Lynyrd Skynyrd concert than see a work dealing with timeless themes and 3-dimensional characters?

Troll, Troll Don't You Know The Road?

Yes Mr. Floyd, I Know The Road.
The ways of Man are passing strange, he buys his freedom and he counts his change.
Then he lets the wind his days arrange and he calls the tide his master.
