90% of Israeli law is based on brittish law.
The rest 1% on Ottoman law and 9% Israeli / Jewish laws.
I can name you several which define Israel as a state with Jewish characteristic. That doesn't mean anything.

If the refugees came there and everyone refused to take them, well what would happen? I don't even have to speculate.... illegal immigrants in the US were chased, deported, deteined, harassed etc for years in the US. What one has to understand about why religious laws are becoming worse in ISrael - is that the religious parties, a 10-20% block in the knesset, are becoming the regularal coalition partner, and thus are power brokers.
That's why i;m going to vote for Shinui. To have an alternative.
