"NOW is supporting rights for women."

"And since "support" can also be qualified as money, we did that, too."

Devil's in the details. We "supported" the Taliban all the way up to 9/11 with food and poppy eradication $. Hardly the "support" I think Wood is talking about.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

For NOW to be considered a Human rights organization they need to care some about Males as well. Just a little, we are not asking for much. Just some show that they think men deserve some rights as well.
I might as well just save you all the trouble...
and if you don't understand any of these... Ming. Bastard is he. yesssss.

"But actors have so much free time to devote to examining issues that us poor working folk can't afford."

Hey, he's a man of the people. He had a bear with his driver, after all!

Now who is being picky? I don't recall NOW ever advocating the mistreatment or subjugation of men.

They were calling the Taliban on its human rights abuses back in 1997, so the point stands.

Right, in no way was that money being given to soften them up in favor of the Northern oil pipeline, no...

Using that logic... Somebody in the KKK would also have opinions you would be interested in

Hey if they are in KKK doesn't mean that automatically they have no good opinions on decorating a house, or how to fix a computer etc, while their opinions on race, religion... I will most likely disagree with, knowing with which opinion they represent in that regard.

Ever notice how the Left always claims the US supported someone when the right wants to remove them?

                        Seems this happens EVERY time.

BTW, for the record, there is NO proof that Saddam EVER even heard of the CIA, let alone worked for them.

CIA helped Saddam to power. So what? If the guy betrayed us and the world, then it's our duty to take him out.

In 1979, Saddam seemed to be a better choice than Ayatollahs. I still think he is better than OBL, Zawahiri, and Mullah Omar.

Everybody makes mistakes. But everybody can CORRECT their past mistakes.

Silly masochist(it must be my fault) lefties.

Who betrayed who? Our country conveniently looked the other way when he was gassing the Kurds and the Iranians. The fact that we turn around now and say he's the scourge of the region with those same weapons is absolute hypocrisy.

Call it realpolitik. Call it whatever. But it's exactly these situations that make for ample incentive in the Al-qaeda membership drive.

I know that I cannot ask you to post a link as there can hardly be one that debates the issue, however how come you are so certain?

The fact is that US supported the people at the time when it suited them and ditched them accordingly, and it just so happens that people who US supported for long become the national enemy no. 1. Current ones Osama and Saddam, have both been on the US side at times according to these little reports we can read that are available publicly. - hey at least Saddam was not an outright commie like his oppositin than, and that should have guarentted support from the US if nothing else + proven support against Iran etc... Now what made Saddam to invade Kuwait there is no way of knowing, but if that was not the case he would still be under US protection and noone would ask if the old dictator was making nukes or not, as he is a good pet like Pakistan is at the moment, who cares about them even though the Taliban was sponsored from there!

Ah well enough ranting, we kinda all know our positions on the topic and have one thing in mind, and that is to live well, and we will see what happens with this war... One thing is certaing and that is dead Iraqis, for they are definitley between a rock and a hard place, and for the rest of us, hopefully life as normal.
