Crossing the street for fear of the black man...

I avoid drunks regardless of race. I generally do not avoid anyone on the street. Violent people usually base their lives around fear. If they "smell" fear they will attack. But there is no guarantee that they will not attack anyway BECAUSE they are afraid of you. It is foolish in any case to walk into a threatening group of gangsters and think you are going to act cool and thereby prevent them from harming you. The best option if you are unsure of the situation is to carry a hand gun in your pocket. If you don't have one then keep one hand in your pocket as you walk by. Of course the laws are now such that only the crimials are allowed to carry guns so you may as well turn tail and run if you see a situation coming that you cannot avoid. I worked in a prison for several years and some of these people (black, white, whatever) just love to beat up and kill people for the fun of it. On the other hand many of them would appreciate it if you just said good morning as you walked by. Showing simple respect for a fellow human being as you pass by is generally not despised by anyone unless they are drunk or loaded on something or another.

I don't tend to avoid individuals (since I seem to exude enough confidence/whatever that people generally won't try to pick a one-on-one fight, drunk or not), but I'll avoid a group of people if they seem menacing/drunk/etc. Another tactic that seems to work is to get the drop on them -- when somebody asks "Excuse me, but do you know how to get to the train station?" or "Good evening" or "Nice shirt" or whatever, yell "Let go of my purse!" and sucker punch them. This technique works best when you're wearing a tinfoil hat and haven't bathed in two weeks.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

BTW Speer, which black man does the OP refer to? Is his name John, by any chance? Because if so then I think that I might know who you're talking about, and no, I don't see any reason why I'd cross the street to avoid John (i.e. "the black man"), since he's quite affable. If you're talking about Kurt (i.e. "the black man"), though, then I might avoid him just because he's pretty opinionated and can't seem to take a hint -- if he managed to back me into a corner then he'd talk my ear off until I was late for class.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

If I'm understanding Paiktis's troll correctly, then my saying "Most of my ancestors were French" makes me a racist. However, that's simplistically equating a statement of fact ("Most of my ancestors were French") with a (non-existent) statement of opinion ("Most of my ancestors were French, so I am superior to all Africans"). I don't see how Paiktis can honestly expect anybody to believe that these statements are equivalent, seeing as how he has previously started "Greeks are great, just look at our lustrous history" threads/trolls. I call bull**** on this.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures

The ones who reacted to my statement (boris, loinburger) are some of the people who suffer from "caucasian psychosis" as is seen clearly in previous posts they made.
I think it is no accident that those who reacted to my statement are the very racists (consciously or not) themselves.
H Tower the number is published in american and european studies.
