As for flamoyant homosexuals -- they do not represent all homosexuals, since no individual homosexual or specific sub-group of homosexuals can represent all other individuals.

They don't have to be powerful at all! I gave an example before your post:

(...) in China. More than once I have inadvertantly picked up a straight guy on the subway or sidewalk, gone to dinner together, returned to my apartment, ended up in bed together, only to discover later that the guy really wasn't gay, or even "bisexual" as westerners use the term.

I assure you no coercion need be required. This has happened to me twice, and almost happened several other times. In neither case did I even realize the guy was not gay until much later. I think Chinese sexuality is closer to what Boris was referring to, i.e. more "natural".
