Yes, Stefu has the clue. Apparently there's unofficial news that he would have been against capitalism or globalisation. But so far no official news about that. Also note the very latest update from Reuters about the fact that he most likely found the instructions on the web. Maybe this turn up to be the most severe bomb explosion done by using instructions found on the web.

My personal opinion is now that he was a lone anti capitalist fanatic who went too far and wanted to attack capitalism or globalisation by a bomb attack in a large shopping centre. Somekind of a protest against consuming Finns shopping capitalist products. Just some laud rumblings. At least the link between anti capitalism or anti globalisation and a shopping centre like Myyrmanni would sound somehow understandable.

That's what I think too. Some good news after all. Unfortunately some of these and several others will although have lifelong injuries like lost limbs or blindness, but at least we can say that they survived.

Stefu, yep.. but they were definately rumours. They said he was very quiet and lonely. Possibly depressed then too (my own addition). People like that tend to take break ups etc extra hard.

If the theory on anti-globalization as a motive proves to be true, it would certainly serve as an eye-opener to some people of what far left radicals are capable of, if the hate is strong enough.

And I still don't think he acted alone. At the very least, I think others were in on the plans for the attack, but it may be uglier than that.

Well, the anti capitalism or globalisation ideology could also just have been a partial reason. Maybe he just had too many psychological problems or stress, so he just couldn't stand it and used an ideology as an excuse. Anyway, currently it strongly looks like he was acting on his own and that it wasn't a terrorist attack as he acted more like a madman who was organised and didn't go out for a rampage. Anyway, we will get to know more about his personal motives as the NBI interrogates his parents and friends, but also analyses the information from the house search.

Rasbelin, As of this moment, I don't know what to think of the bomber. In the US, we have had many instances of crazies begin a shooting spree they know will end in the police shooting them. It is now called suicide by cop. But, in the process, a lot of innocent people are killed.

According to what I've heard, the bomber had no apparent political motivation behind his actions - he was "just" a student bent on creating pyrotechnic stuff who happened to suffer a mental breakdown for no currently obvious reason and experimented his creations in the Absolutely Wrong Place.

Okay, the internet junkies have been busy. Even some Finnish news agencies have published a name; Petri Gerdt.

Also, some information says that the pellets flew in a mostly vertical direction, and that only the bombers feet remained intact, hinting that he was setting down the bomb (and maybe intending to escape) but it blew up in his hands. Eerie.

Also Kassis picture is not the same person. I mean think about it, this guy is 187cm.. and checking that photo in full size (where are other people too), he's definately not near 187cm. He can't be the same guy, he's not even close matching description.
