As there is still a significant wage difference between men and women that means you're trying to undo 30 years of social reform and get women out of work and back into the home.

      Well done.

Does studio flat mean the same thing that it does in the US. (a one room apartment) If it does, I doubt I'd want to raise a child there.

My wife earns more than me and she is going to go part time because she wants to.

Of course, not every woman earns less and if she wants to that's fine. She shouldn't be forced to though, that's my point.

Rah, yes, it does mean the same. That's also a complete dump. I looked round a flat in that block a year or so ago when I was looking for somewhere to rent.

I agree, but unfortunatley it is the case that a women who takes say 4 years off either completley or goes part time faces problemms with her career.

My wife will have no chance of promtion once she goes part time

No, really!? Bods clutching at straws again...

Guess you'll be bringing up your family on the outer hebrides as a sheep herder Bods - cos that's all you'll be able to afford with your pathetic university degree in the SE...

Seems to me that a lot of people aren't being selfish by not having kids - but merely struggling to survive without an extra mouth to feed and the loss of income that a child entails...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

I'm waiting for Bod's to raise the "Family credit" issue.

                    • There was a certain political party that was very keen on women giving up work and raising lots of children. It's name currently escapes me but I think it was quite big in Europe between 1933 and 1945.
