  • Oh yeah, and that Mike Gandy that is starting now that Tucker got hurt, is a Homeboy. Played high school in Garland, which is across the street from east Richardson.
    Go Gandy!

    • I decided to pick up Kelly Holcomb today. Tim Couch just isn't doing it in Cleveland.

Cleveland should learn from New England and go with the hot hand.

      • Holcomb? He's on the D.L., scheduled for surgery this week.

                    Or you are a Prophet:

Browns' Holcomb breaks leg in comeback

                    October 8, 2002

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Browns backup quarterback Kelly Holcomb broke his left leg and sprained his knee during a fourth-quarter comeback Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. ADVERTISEMENT

Holcomb, who threw two touchdown passes in the final period as the Browns rallied before losing, sustained a hairline fracture of his left shinbone, the team said Tuesday.

The team did not say how long Holcomb would be sidelined.

Browns coach Butch Davis offered little information on Holcomb during his Monday news conference. Asked about Holcomb's injuries, Davis said Holcomb ``gutted it out and he finished the game.''

At the time, Holcomb was undergoing tests at a hospital.

Holcomb's agents told newspapers that Holcomb was injured when a Ravens lineman rolled onto his leg.

``Kelly told me (Monday) his leg was hurting like a dog, but he said, 'I couldn't come out of that game,''' Holcomb's agent, Frank Bauer, told the Akron Beacon Journal.

Holcomb led Cleveland's frantic fourth-quarter comeback from a 23-0 deficit after starting quarterback Tim Couch was sidelined with a concussion.

Holcomb, who limped up to the line in the final minutes, threw two touchdowns passes and barely missed on a third in the closing seconds, finishing 13-for-23 with 180 yards in a 26-21 loss to the Ravens.

His final throw was intercepted by the Ravens in the end zone.

Holcomb started the Browns' first two games of the season as Couch recovered from an elbow injury. He completed 44 of 69 passes for 524 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

Couch returned to start against Tennessee and led Cleveland to a come-from-behind victory.

Cleveland fans booed Couch on Sunday as Baltimore opened a 23-0 lead by the end of the third quarter.

While recovering a fumble near Cleveland's goal line, Couch was hit by four Ravens and sustained a concussion. As he knelt on the turf, fans began cheering. After the game, Couch fought back tears as he discussed his shock that fans had turned against him.

I did look at that before I released him. I didn't take just your word for it, since we ARE opponents this Sunday.

Can you tell me who else is going to be injured, so I can prepare for that as well?
