Lose the "Objective:" line. When I read resumes I always ignore that kind of stuff. It is just generic BS and does not help distinguish you from any other candidate.
thanks, sounds like good advice.
How about working for a UNION, your politics fit right in and your background in history is a plus.
Ya, finding some union job openings are what finally got me off my ass to write this out.
Ooooh, nothing says 'employ me' quite like this line:
Member, Students Transforming and Resisting Corporations
That's one for the sig!
Summary too long. It's a summary
Good point.
Do you hold any offices in student bodies?
Most of the groups I'm in don't have officers.
Okay, what else did you do? I am assuming you don't want to be a chef? What kind of transferable skills did you acquire at this job?
Learning to put up with an annoying boss
Document editing is good. Elaborate on the kind of documents you have worked on. Were your edits final? Did somebody else looked at your stuff? How good are you at organising the libraries?
Helped do a final edit on a book that's now published, the author made sure I did things right.
As far as libraries go I know how to make card catalogues and put things in alphabetical order

Only problem is its about the american gay experience and whatnot and I don't want to be targetted by homophobes without even being gay
But yeah, I should give more info on it.
It's only a bit of temping but it pays the bills. At least it doesn't mean I have to apply to any job that is there, I can be a little more selective (I mean, a lot of those positions were for worse money than I am on now) and they are keen on keeping me for as long as is possible (although I will see about that if I get a better offer).

This is why my online presence is curtailed so much lately, and the major reason why I was missing from poly for such a long time (well, a month, but by my standards, that's a long time )

No, I am about 15 minutes from where I work which is quite fortunate...luckily I don't tend to get too bad traffic from where I live, it is about 4 miles south of my house...

I've looked into my glass ball and with skills like a BA in history combined with some clerical skills and left wing student activism I see a future in substitute teaching
