IDF will occupy Gaza and uproot Hamas

It has come to be known, that there was a decison that the next time a terrorist attack performed by Hamas will occur in Israel, IDF will perform a full scale incursion into Gaza.

This will require emergency call up of reserves and will take a lengthy time, similar to what Israel did in the west bank, 6 months ago.

The spiritual leader of Hamas will be deported.

The rest will be arrested and put on trial, (or if they can't be captured alive - will be assassinated [my personal assumption]).


Israel has so far avoided invading Gaza, hoping that the west bank would do.

Furthermore, it is considered a 'hornet nest' since they had months to prepare for such possible incursion, and it is one of the most tightly populated and tightly built city areas in the world.

It is reported that the locals have prepared in a very successfull way, employing quality explosives and have a large stockpile of weapons.

Furthermore, during these 6 months, they have drilled possible maneuvers for an upcoming Israeli invasion.


IDF however also promises that it has learnt lessons and devised better plans for dealing with combat in Gaza.


The next suicide bombing will tell.

Well, I'm sure it will have its intended effect - prolonging the conflict for another six months or so. And six months is a long time. I'm sure Sharon will come up with a new way to avoid peace in that period.

Back to addressing normal people:

The west bank incursion very successfully changed the rate of suicide bombings from 2 per day to 2 per month.

The Gaza incursion ought to finish it off and make it 1 per two months or something.

Don't expect results in the first 2 - 3 months but rather later.

I think that around December of 2002, we'll see very little successfull terrorist activity. Compared to today and especially compared to 6 months ago.

Obviously Gaza only contains innocent palestinians. Hamas is actually secretly operating from it's real base of operations on the moon.

I think it's some religious shtick. When a palestinian is shot, his weapons are taken away, his face hood is taken off, and he is automatically forgiven his sins and becomes an 'innocent bystander'.

Hamas may want an Israeli incursion into Gaza, but I'm sure that most Palestinians there don't. If Israel says that they'll go into Gaza after any Hamas attack and Hamas attacks anyway, Hamas may be seen by the Pal street as bringing destruction down on their heads. I doubt this would happen, as the Pals are pretty brainwashed by this point, but it wouldn't hurt for Israel to make their intentions clear. At least they could say that they warned the Pals...

The difference is that if hostilities ended now, Sharon would be forced to make concessions. That's not going to happen if Der Fuhrer can help it.
