  • They lost a heartbreaker against New Orleans week one on a "FLUKE" play

Yeah, it should have just been a safety .

Who got Peppers? You all do realize that he's going to be the defensive player of the year, right?

Doubt it . Peppers might have looked good against the Lions, but lets see him do it against an NFL team .

    • Heh, oh wait, the Steelers don't play anymore good teams for a while. =P

While like you, I hate the Steelers... but I'm afraid the rest of their schedule is against a bunch of bad teams... they should come back and make the playoffs.

As far as Peppers goes, I have no clue who drafted him, or if anybody did... (good time to check the waiver wire)

        • Carolina did, Ming.

Remember, #2 pick and all .

But also, like I said, it was against the NFL's juco team .

            I meant in OUR league...

And yeah, I wouldn't judge anybody based on their performance against a team like the Lions

            • Yea, I mispoke when I said the Panthers have the easiest schedule. Look at the Jaguars, and look at the Texans. The Steelers have smooth sailing from now on out, too, whereas someone clearly wants, for example, the Raiders to lose.

              • poor Lions. Their best bet for a win isn't until middle of November, too. They got crapped on, too.

There is no BEST bet for a win when it comes to the Lions. It will simply come down to the old "On any given Sunday" rule for them to win a game. And with my luck, it will happen against the Bears...

Indeed... that was entertainment. But I think Bills fans found it more entertaining than Viking fans

As a Bears fan... I just laughed my head off watching it

Indeed they can, Ming... and Imran, I'll say it again - when it's all said and done, Oakland will have gotten the worse half of the Gruden trade. The Raiders are doomed to SALARY CAP HELL next year (along with my least favorite team, the Rams) with a second-year coach, while the Bucs will be able to make noise with Gruden for several years and still be competitive when the time comes to reconstruct the defense.

The offense still isn't where we need it to be - defensive touchdowns and field goals aren't going to cut it against the Rams. But I'm not worried - the Bucs are always up for the Rams, and we haven't lost to them since the referees screwed us over in the '99 NFC championship. And Gruden's West Coast system will come together in time - it's something you can't rush. They do have the personnel for it, at least, and it sure as hell ain't as conservative as the "other stuff" Mr. Dungy was giving us.

                          • The Rams are the most overrated team in the NFL.
To us, it is the BEAST.

                            • Good avatar Sava!

About the schedule - it works like this, you against all 3 of the teams in your conference twice (6), every team in your division (of 4) plays against an entire division in the opposite cinference (4) and an entire division in the same conference as you (4), which adds up to 14. The other two games are decided by how good you were the year before - meanin if you won your division, you will have to play two division winners, if you were second you play two teams that were second in their division, etc. Those two teams are from the same conference as yours btw. So that brings you to 16 games, plus the bye. It makes a hell of a lot more sense now that they had realignment and evened out the teams.

                              • The Rams are well-built. I watched their drafts for like 3 years before they hit big-time. Warner was a surprise, but Trent Green wasn't a dog or anything.
San Diego has been doing it the same way, and will be the A.F.C. equivalent.
