Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

My thoughts are today in the events 1 year ago and all the victims; dead or alive, that were affected by this unexpected tradegy. I hope that this incident has changed things into something positive too.

May God protect all the family and friends of those who perished at 11.9.2001.

P.S. There's a typo in the thread title. In Mememoriam -> In Memoriam.

343 firefighters, cops etc died trying to save people. When people die trying to save someone else, unknown stranger, they become true heroes who will be always remembered, never forgotten.
Comfort to the ones who lost their loved ones in that horrible day. Hopefully this will never happen again.

Although posting from the other side of the world makes it difficult to reconcile the TV pictures with reality, there is certainly one thing I feel deeply.

Put an end to terrorism. All of it. Everywhere. For good.

For those who died, so no more need be lost.

Every day when I take the ferry and pass the hole in the skyline I remember what we lost. Today is just the worst day of remembering.

Saw a terrible front page today. It read "Here Anne's husband dies". It was a blown up picture of ppl standing in the window frames in the WTC - one of the towers. Her husband was at 106th floor leaning downwards from the window frame. A looong way down....must have been really scary - I guess most ppl would be afraid of heights that far up... Plus the fires inside etc.

When I saw the incident on tv I kept thinking: All those ppl waving outside the windows - they're dead now!! There was no hope for them after the buildings collapsed... Really sad.

Perhaps these boards themselves are one of the best examples of a memorial for which we can strive in this
                                little worldly community of ours.

I wish peace and understanding to all of you.
