I have to agree with NYE and the other critics: this banner will only affect sales adversely.
The difference between bad taste and genious is very thin, and in this case I regard the banner as only bad taste. The reference to Chaplin and "The Dictator" is far too vague, which means people will just see Hitler in the pic.
Is it just me, or do the number of arguments against this banner tell me, maybe not such a good idea?
"Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown . . . reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency" - Walt Whitman

what if it's animated, and the first frame says "warning: charlie chaplin image ahead" ?
I hope this is simulated stupidity, because if it's the real thing I'm worried...
If you ask for an opinion and don't like it, either ignore the opinion and go ahead or take it into account. There's very little point arguing over it.

Hmm.. i allways tought that there was something between genious and bad taste you know like between black and white is grey.

"Well he's fallen off it then."

hmm discussions are worthless then???
Sarcasm doesn't work well over the Net...we need a smiley for it.
And to be honest this don't sound much like no discussion to me. The poll helps, but mostly it's you failing to accept an opinion...

Or something else along the 'if you don't buy from Apolyton' theme but with a reversal...like 'every time you buya product from the Apolyton Store we injure Christine Hamilton a little more...'
