      • work two jobs... the standard work week in America is 40 hours. Working full-time, one person should be able to support themselves. Beyond what is required to get food, shelter, and basic clothing, is beyond what is called the living wage. Unfortunately, minimum wage is far below the living wage.

The US economy is nearly $10 trillion. $150 billion would of been not much of a cost... I guess by increasing taxes by a small amount just for that would be a possibility. Along with spending deeper in deficit. It was done during the 80s.

                • Don't let God hear you say that. You aren't much of a christian if it doesn't affect a whole part of your life & your beliefs. You're either in or you ain't, and it sounds like you ain't.
Well, I refuse to enforce my personal beliefs on others, whether or not I believe them to be ultimate truth.

While I might feel that adultery is wrong, or drug use or homosexuality or any other number of things, I refuse to let my religious beliefs effect what laws I support. It's none of my business if someone wants to smoke crack, and I'm not gonna advocate a law which enforces a moral code not everyone believes in.

                  Sava,

Lot's of people work two jobs. It just depends on how much you want to succeed, I guess.

Would you spend 2% of your GDP on a fleet of aircraft of dubious military worth?

                      Probably not.

You must thnk this is some other country. There's no job security for strikers. It's called being permanently replaced. Happens all the time.

That's about the same percentage of people as who drugs.

I suppose you'd be shocked to learn that 40% of all sickdays fall on Monday and Friday. Lot of malingering must be going on, huh?

So what you're saying is that 75.5% and 71% state and federal violent crimes were committed by people who were sober! Sober people are dangerous! We should look them all up to make thw world safer for us druggies!

I'm also referring to various other union protections, such as federal laws forcing corporations to negotiate, forcing arbitration, etc.

And I'm fairly certain there are, at least in theory, laws protecting job security of strikers, though I could be wrong.

Either way, there shouldn't be, in my opinion.
