I think it was in the center of the city, and some project company bought it to put large buildings on it. I can see the point of that, and understand why it would have that value.

Sorry but those training grounds are located on the financial centre of Madrid. Anyone would have paid that much for the terrain, so they could build three skyscrappers there.

Besides, do you have an idea how much money does Real Madrid make all over the world? Raúl, Zidane, Figo and Ronaldo can sell a few Real Madrid jerseys, you know.

Ok so Madrid have a lot of money in the bank at the moment, to pay all those wages they are going to have use that money.

When they run out of money the next time they won't have a training ground to sell. However they will still spend more money than everyone else. The government wouldn't allow Madrid (or Barcelona for that matter) to go under

Let's see: TV rights money, merchandising money, friendly matches (such as the last one in New York against Roma) money, season tickets (such as the one I own, almost €600, including CL matches) money... Real Madrid is, just as Man Utd for that matter, a money-making machine.
