I am atheist and can't. I am just going with my gut feeling.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

There is no God... because limitless power is unattainable, and that is what describes God. It is impossible for him to exist, because there would alway belay the possibility that a stronger force exists, and if that possibility exists, that which is considered god is not truly God.

"There is no God... because limitless power is unattainable,"

        Why is that?

"It is impossible for him to exist, because there would alway belay the possibility that a stronger force exists, and if that possibility exists, that which is considered god is not truly God."

If his power is limitless, then there is nothing bigger- the concept of infinity might wrap human's brains into a pretzel, but its a real lol.

        Nope lol.

I cannot see love therefor I assume it does not exist.

Love is a combination of synapsis in the brain......its not tangible. And my mother isnt really very wealthy, so thats a bad reason .

My judgement: If god exists who created god? (None of that omnipotent babbling I hear a lot) Therefore God does not exist.

Also I believe human beings have the right to think on their own, not to have some higher being to direct them. So that is another reason why I think god doesn't exist.

Cos you can always get more powerful!

So it is impossible for God to get any mor powerfu lthan he already is? Strange, I thoguht his power was such that he could do anything

                Nope lol.
I do in my own mind, and that's al lthat counts.

Quantum theory shows that something can come from nothing(though I understand alot of the quantum theory stuff, I CONTINUE to maintain that it is bull****, and we will find the true answers eventually, heh).

Than that theory basically proves my philosophy too. Something can come out of nothing... so why should their be a god? That theory really needs to be redefined heavily. I don't know crap about it and don't care as I am going with my gut feeling when it comes to religion.

I've read tons of stuff on quantum theory, but it is so counter-intuative, that I cannot accept it as fact, or even as a coherant set of ideas......I am convinced we will come up with something more inteligent some day.

Im saying to all the naysayers. You cant see love. You can assume its there. You cant see god. Yet its natural to assume somthing is there. How do you know what happens after your 6 feet under. You dont. Very few have lived to tell about it adn there descriptions are vague.

Not true. I can obtain limitless power over somthing. If only I was a computer programmer...

Things like Prayer also do things to chemicals in the brain? What does that mean..who knows?

                          g2g. cya folks

If time exists, what came before time?

No-one said that God had to be controlling your thoughts.
