Just saw M. Night Shyalaman's latest offering, and I have to say that it is truly a steaming pile of dung!
I loved 6th Sense and Unbreakable, but this was a poor effort with 'M' basically riding on his success. Basically IMO he's sold out by appealing to the lowest common denominator...
The previews on TV were excellent with nothing much really being given away (except it has stuff to do with sinister crop circles!). The film is very suspenseful and for the first half hour or so is very entertaining, but the actions of the characters seem inplausible during the middle and then everything seems to fall away very sharply with an absolutely ludicrous ending...
That and the completely banal 'message' just made me want to puke by the end...
Still, I guess if it was aimed at the same audience as all the 'dumb small town American' cliches liberally spread throughout the movie - then it's hit it's mark...
3/10 If only because it was a good start...
Can we have a :steamingdung: smiley please?
