I have one but I'll probably get rid of it. Of course that's what I did with Cingular. I could only go 3 months without a cell phone

I hear they may cause long term memory damage, but I can't remember where I read that.

edit: Oh, I forgot to mention few more stupid things about cell phones.
It makes people paranoid. When you call to your friend, you know he/she can see that you're calling.. no answer.. you start to wonder why it wasn't answered.. is he/she dissing me? Was it a bad time? If it was, well uh, that's bad, I can get blame for it.. Will my friend call me back? Why doesn't he/she call me back already? Should I call again? Or send a text message?

      oh boy

yep. that's a problem as well. especially for me who sometimes just want to be left alone.

and there is the question of how to not answer it. cause if you press the cancel button the cell phone will give the busy tone immiddiatly and the caller will know that you have basically shut the phone on his/her face.

but if you have it on loud you cant really suffer the dang thing ringin all the time untill it quits.

and then there the godamn text messages. thse you cant avoid. and you have to answer them. and you might not feel like it.

and then they call you at the home phone (where there's usually no caller identification) and ask you, didnt you get my message why didn you call etcetctec

and you have to AAAARGH make a ton more of excuses that you would usually have to make. ****ing hell.

i have had about 4 cell phones. gave up one after another and then always found myself getting a new one and a new one and sh!t!

OTOH cell phones are cool when you want to reach your gf anytime you want

they are bad when you want to be left alone.

now there is even a ****ing song about what you described Pekka. the lyrics are hilarious, ill try to translate

why did you had your cell phone turned off?

since you knew that i was going to call you

something is going on, otherwise there is no explanation

you knew i was going to call you
so why is my call being diverteted?

      god.

it's crazy here as well. i doubt it's crazier somewhere else although its not impossible.

and the ring tones... every godamn bastard has come up with hundrends of them

ring tone this song, ring tone the other song

ring tones on tv on the net on ads ring tones everywhere

and when you're in a croweded place and a cell phone rings everybody' starts to search to their pockets or their bags untill the fooker who got the call answers and then they all quit.

OTOH there are really life saviors.

        an example.

some guy had taken his small boat and sailed off to the aegean. somehow he managed to get stranded in a barren rock somewhere in the middle of the aegean and his small boat sank.

maybe he would have died out there if not for his cell phone which he used to call the authorities and they used the signal to locate his position and come and save him.

I have one, but it's off 3/4th of the time. Why? It's just my house phone, but one I can shut of mecifully.
If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.

ring tones are good. when a phone rings I know its not mine. I use Hall of the Mountain King. I haven't heard anyone use that one.

Of course many people can't figure that out. They hear someones custom ring tone. they should realize its not theirs, yet they still reach for their phones. oh well

Not answering the phone i not really an issue for me anymore because there is a mute button in my phone (naturally a Nokia) it keeps ringing but the person in the other end doesnt know i dont hear it and it doesnt bother people around me but usually i just keep my phone silent and use the vibrating alert.

Cell-phone culture. But what about e-mail culture? People expect you to answer the very same day. I hate that.

                          crap then.

it does have that navi button.

i'll test it by pressing the other buttons in the right side later on. maybe there is an option there. or maybe the top button (on the top part of the phone)

if i press the navi button it answers. if i press the left button it cancels (doesnt mute).

i have managed not to pay a dime for my cell phones actually

there are some pretty lucrative deals here with the mobile phone companies, there was a time they were giving everything for free (different models of phones) as long as you took a subscritpion.

i have managed to not pay for any of the 4 i've changed

the last one i got it free from an offer of my bank.

no way im going to pay 1140 for a cell phone (but then again i'm not big on cell phones

oh fook, it's rining now! checked the buttons, there is NO mute. definitely.
