And the Egyptians were eating the bread, seasoned with olive oil and native spices as early as 2000 BC. This was apparently to celebrate the birthday of the pharao. The Babylonians, Israelites and the greeks also ate similar bread.

anyway. it's a commonly accepted practice to refer to natives of the united states of america as americans, whether it's technically correct to do so or not. in fact, a lot of euro derogatory terms (such as "amis", used in germany) refer only to those of the us, not to the rest of the americas... and there's no confusion about the victims of such a slur.
