Personally, I am happy I'm still 'intact'. There is no way that any child of mine will ever be circumsized if there is not a very good medical reason to do so. My sons will have the opportunity to make the decision to get circumsized on their own, when they're mature enough to do so.

Leave the poor kids genitals alone! There's no medical reason for everyone to have it cut off and it'll reduce their sexual pleasure later in life and it DOES reduce pleasure that is not some myth.

Actually, again from my last cited huge essay, circumcised men complain more about premature ejaculation than uncircumcised men. They gave a possible explanation for it, but I can't recall it now. This is a faulty argument at its core, because it depends on the man, not whether he has foreskin or not.

Premature ejaculation isn't cause by sensitivity. I'm talking about lasting time for normal people

You're right, not US high schools. But then again I also was in the US in the civilized West, where circumsisions are the minority.

But you must admit, Imran, that arguing for circumcision on the basis of peer pressure, particularly when the boy's a very large "minority" (~40% of the US, 85% of the World), is stupid. I've personally met more women who would prefer the uncut to the cut, but I've also spent my high school years in Canada where the cut boys are the freaks.

The points are (1) what does it matter what other people think. I don't think women care that much and (2) what are the kids in school doing analysing one another's penises anyway

It's not that simple. The open wound is exposed for days, and at that age they aren't exactly toilet trained so the wound will eventually mix with feces or urine...which is why the infection rate soars.

And you can't give babies anesthetic all (or even most?) of the time. They're simply too young. You could apply a little local, but that eventually wears off, and then the baby is SOL for the next weeks in pain.

Do you have the actual numbers? The doctors in the article I cited claimed the infection rate soars after the operation for a couple weeks.
