Spanish Revolution aside, I don't know of many non-authoritarian armies that had the economic base to achieve a similar size, amount of equipment, and level training as their enemies.

I know. The anarchists have never really had much of a chance (not even as much as I'd say democratic socialists like myself have)...

BTW, examples of your criteria include the Makhovists or the Zapatistas... Of course, they never had the size to fight off the Soviet or Mexican gov't's, respectively.

That's the thing; they seem to work well for local resistance, etc. I'm not sure how well they'd work when applied to a unified, nationwide army which is fighting an all-out conventional war...

Well, there is the Spanish Civil War... And I think the militias did pretty damn well.

Against. Probably one of the few here with a seamless garb.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

This is just plain stupid. Murderers will tell other criminals how to murder?
no. thats not what i said. It will give them ideas. When somebody starts telling you how they found it easier to knock over a seven eleven if they just shoot the clerk, this could easily turn a common crook who is listening into a murderer.

The moment of fear that thier victims had, right before they were going to die, is something all murderers should experience first hand. Lets see how much balls these tough guys have when they know they are staring death in the face.
