I believe in God; I don't believe in churches.

I am reminded of a joke:

A lady dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets her at the pearly gates. He shows her around, and she has only one question.

"What is that wall?," She asks?

"Oh, we keep the catholics over there, so they think they're the only ones here."

Then why did Jesus tell Peter that he would be the rock on which his church would be built?

          So am I.

Kylie Minogue, Billy Williams and Elton John come out of a night club when Kyle trips and ends up bent over, bum in the air, with her head caught between the bars of a safety fence.

Billy takes the opportunity to roger Kylie vigorously and when he's finished turns to Elton and says "okay mate, its your turn."

Elton however bursts into tears. "Why are you crying?" asks Billy.

"Because I can't get my head between the bars."

              AH

I can't believe I've posted that exact sentence twice now.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

"archbishops and patriarchs of all sects, Catholic or not, are eligible electors. Now that really would be something.

And then the next pope shall be Jehowa witness...

Sure would. Archbishops aren't eligible to vote. Only Cardinals.

I don't have to like it since its pretty clear that its a belief with little in the way of reality behind it.

This Pope is Jesus Christ representative on planet earth. If you do not like it to bad.

                            Says who? The pope?
C'mon, The Holy Ghost is the representative on this planet. Not any human.

Keep this in mind, our lord God started the Jewish Church and Jesus started the Catholic Church, all other churches were started my a man.

                            God didn't start any church.
And I can't find the phrase 'roman catholic church' anywhere in the bible. Besides that, there are too many foolish things going on in the RCC to claim it's the only true church. Praying to Maria, celibate, just to name two.

When Jesus decides to take John Paul, he will, without any help from any of us.

                            That's true

When Jesus Christ decides this church need a change, he will make his though know to all of us.

You might have missed Maarten Luther, a few centuries ago

And about the pope, I don't care about him in any christian way. Of course it's important for the global issues. But hey, he's not Jesus' representative on earth. I like him though. After all he's a christian, that's a good thing.

I find it funny how a believer can a have a problem with that. Mary was human and therefor people are more comfortable believing that she might understand their problems. Its pretty darn clear that Jehovah sure didn't as if Jehovah could he sure wouldn't feel the need for a human sacrifice which is what the alleged sacrifice of Jesus on the cross is supposed to be.

They are NOT praying to her like some kind of ancient worship. They are trying to commune with someone. Someone dead and gone but that is what belief entails. You pray to a dead man yourself.

Its true there are some peculiar ideas in Catholicism based on what the Bible says but all christians have ideas that are in variance with reality and the Bible.

Good. His actions eventually led to the deaths of millions in Europe. Not his doing but that was the result.

                                That's true. Unfortunately.

That's true as well. But that always happens when people try to be free from the opressors.
