Or any of those movies where John Wayne single handedly hands both Japanese and Germans their asses.

no, I would let it happen. Who knows what would have happend if we skipped WW2 and went straight to the cold war. Not to mention it would be a three way cold war; Democracies, Fascists(sp), and Communists.

Nope. Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood kick all the Nazi ass in these fine films.

Kelly's heroes is still a great movie. Who cares about accuracy; it's a laugh riot!

Damn, you got me there. Stealing Nazi gold and jewels is a hell of a lot more plausible than fighter pilots at Pearl learning to fly bombers in time for Doolittle's Raid...

Maybe we need to call Lee Marvin up and have him train twelve of the army's worst criminals to kill Michael Bay...

i think nobody in their right minds would give a **** about science if thinking of the millions of dead from WW2.

unless he was from a country which didnt fight or didnt fight true

You are absolutely right Paiktis, the guys who were born in country which didn't know the horors of WW2 are unable to understand what type of war it was. Do they know about misery this war brings to our countries? No. What do they know about misery and pain? Nothing. This war for them is nothing more then time when "John Wayne single handedly hands both Japanese and Germans their asses".
When single American is dead it's a national tragedy for them. When millions of foreigners died, it's just a cool show for them.

This war cost 50 millions human's lives. Never ask yourself how many Einsteins or Korolevs died on this war? Perhaps if not this war, we already colonized Mars today.

                              OH MY GOD
I've never had anything Ive said blown so far out of proportion, or used so far from its context. Every American knows the horrors of war, especially of WWII.

You are completely missing the point. If you would of stopped WWII, were so many people died, it is possible there could of been an even more destructive war, or a series of very destructive wars.

I dare you to go back and stop WWII, when you come back (if you are not annhylated by time paradox), you may come back to a nuclear wasteland, or place where the zipper on your pants is a thousand years ahead of the remnants of humanity. You would probably have to check your gauges twice to make sure you werent in 3000 BC.

Maybe you dont understand English sarcasm, but we were making fun of the rediculousness of those films, like John Wayne. Watch Saving Private Ryan, or Black Hawk Down if you want to see Americans get their guts shot out, fighting for their ideals of freedom and democracy.
You are starting to make me sick.

This is very wrong. Again if WWII didnt happen, a worse war could have.
Also, without the pressing need of war, none of those brains would ever have found their talents. It was the need to find a technilogical edge over the enemy that thrusted technology forward. Besides, the world was in a depression, the only other time other than war time that technology prospers is when the economy is booming, it is then businesses can persue technology for marketing purposes. But this would only be the case in a capitolism, of course.
