Anyway, I'll show a little respect and get this thread back on topic. I think that the US will remain the world's sole superpower for at least 20 more years and China will be the next superpower.

I say the US will remain a Superpower for the next couple decades at least. It will then be jopined then by china, who has an industrial potential many times greater than even the US, not to mention its growing economy (thanks to shifts towards free markets...take that communism - it really doesnt work in reality. Though on paper it is perfect.....).
As for Russia, since it has shed its communist government, it was unfortunately raped by the few bastards that took control of the privatized businesses. Once corruption is squelched, and the harm done by it is undone, I will be happy to see a free market Russia in a couple of decades resume its position next to the US as a superpower, though as a close ally instead of a bitter enemy. In an ironic twist, i believe if things continue the way they are, Euro-American relations will sour significantly (with the exception of Britain) and Russo-American relations will become close almost like Britain-American relations. Though this will be fine, because Russia will probably equal the EU in power. It would be nice if we could all be friends, though.
South Africa, though it will never achieve Superpower status anytime soon, I think it does have great potential at becoming a power, which is a big deal being surrounded by the third world as it is.

The Russian Far East (area north of the Amur River) did belong to China and will most likely revert to Chinese control in the future. Illegal Chinese immigration into that area are already threatening to make Russians a minority. Russia is a falling power and China is a rising power. I don't really see how Russia can hold on to the Far East, except by praying that China doesn't want it back. You're also probably going to lose the Kurile and Sakhalin islands to Japan.

Sorry to say, Russian power in Asia is waning and will soon be eclipsed by the rising powers in East Asia. Russia will still be a power, but only a regional one, in Europe. Just my two cents.

                  Serb,

The great Lenin was going to abolish all the unequal treaties signed by Tsarist Russia. The not-so-great Stalin didn't follow through on it.

I thought that our governments solved all territorial problems few years ago.

No, I'm not hostile. I just laugh when I hear that soon I might become a Chinese citizen.

Sorry Russian comrades, but it is likely that large parts of east-asia will fall to China or Japan. I suspect everything up to Stalingrad (Volgagrad) will belong to some Asian entity in the future.

I dunno much about the stability of the east regions of Russia, but thats hard to imagine. I wouldnt think Russia would let these regions go without a fight (just look at chenya, a little pissant region and they are fighting bitterly over it) - and they would be able to put one up even with their decaying military.

I wouldn't go this far. Russia will still probably maintain a presence east of the Urals and in Central Asia. The eastern portions of Russia, however, are going to fall if East Asian countries decide they want them. Economically and demographically, Russia is already beaten in these areas. Militarily, the balance is shifting even as we speak. I'm relatively confident that Mongolia and the Russian Maritime Territories will fall back into the Chinese orbit. Beyond that, it's hard to tell what is going to happen. If Japan became more aggressive, it could probably assert control over the island north of Hokkaido and maybe even expand into Kamchatka. And who knows how much territory China would want to take? Russia can't do much about it, besides using Serb's nuclear weapons, but does Russia really want to start a nuclear exchange in order to keep some sparsely populated forest land? I don't think so...
