You do realize of course, that if they only recruit 300 people because of this game, they will have made their money back?

Three hundred bucks should get you some RAM and a decent video card Speer.

None of the SFC are 3D (they only look that way ).
In fact out of that entire list the only "modern" 3D game would be Warcraft III. And Blizzard intentionally designed that to work well on "old" systems.

By "modern 3D game" I mean more along the lines of Soldier of Fortune 2, Medal of Honor, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, America's Army (), Dungeon Siege, etc.

High resolution textures, high polygon counts, at the minimum support for hardwired T&L, preferably support for vertex and pixel shaders.

Warcraft III actually has extremely low polygon counts, but the artistic ability of Blizzard made it look a lot better than it should. Kinda like Diablo II in 640x480.

I think he defined himself in such a way to get you DinoDoc

Most of the games he listed are at least a year or two old, which is hardly modern when dealing with computers. In fact many of them weren't even 3D.

I tried the demo of Dungeon Seige and it was playable on my system. I just found the gameplay to be a pale immitation of DII.

Jedi Knight II to was also playable on my system. I just haven't had the money to buy it yet. I haven't tried the others.

PS It's not fair to add stuff in after people respond to you.

Dungeon Siege works fine on my system too (even though I have a crappy P2-350), and the demo of Jedi Knight II was perfect on mine.

I actually added it in before I saw your response.

I'm glad Dungeon Siege was playable on your system. What do you define playable as, though?

When you're playing FPS games like America's Army you shouldn't ever (in the most ideal circumstances) have it drop below 35fps, but you could get by if it never dropped below 20.

You can't play these types of games with low framerates very well. You get your ass handed to you over and over again...

Only if you are playing online (you said these types of games, so I assume the single player component as well ). Since I never play online, I don't have to worry .

Oh well, I guess you'll learn to deal with the system's inadequacies.

I throw a hissy fit whenever I game dips below 40fps. The average should be around 75 for me or I get mad.
