Xmas is also a secular holidary, probably more than it is a religious one. I celibrate it and I'm an atheist.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

CG, It also is celebrated in India and Japan, and AFAIK, the whole world. However, everyone also knows that Christmas is Christ's birthday and Santa Claus is a Christian saint. To celebrate this day without acknowledging these simple facts is hypocrisy.
Christmas and its trappings are vulnerable to a Newdow attack if the Supreme’s sustain his victory against the Pledge. I don't see a court sustaining the constitutionality of Christmas based on a theory that it already is secular. It may have that "meaning" to some Americans, but not to most.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en

Dr. S, I got the point about India from an Indian friend.
I agree with you, though, that Christmas just may be under attack in India because it is a Christian holiday.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en
