I know the Roman number thing is messed up, Iwas merely making fun of the amount of Charles' in England.
There have only been 2, so far.

They chopped off the second one's head. That's why kings in England don't take that name when they accede to the throne.

Is it true that Finnish is the only language in the region that is not even remotely related to the Indo-European family?

            Where did it come from?

Related to Hungarian. Came from the East.

Oh. So it isn't the only non related language in the area. Damn profs. Can't trust a one of em.

However, I was think a wee bit more exotic. Are you sure they couldn't have influenced that tree to blend in better? Notice that the Finnish branch is the highest point.

Tee-hee, somehow I think it's funny that some professors can't get right stuff that's teached to fifteen year olds. Of course, it's 7 AM, in the night if you get my drift, and tablespoons looks like a bloody funny concept at this point.

Influenced? Us? By all means, no. Actually, Finnish comes from the planet Mikälie, from the solar system of Hemmetti some thirtythree lightyears away.

The Estonian and Finnish languages are btw quite identical, we can roughly understand each other even if we haven't studied the language one bit. But Finnish has gotten much more influence from Indo-European languages then other Ugric languages, methinks. Even from the Slavic ones.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

OOOOH, me too, I am quite eager to learn German.

Nope, they chopped off the first one's head. The second one came back after Cromwell died and took charge again.

My guess was Andromeda, but close enough from my perspective.

Oh, BTW, you should have gone to sleep. Now you've disclosed that the Estonians are your (probably less) evil twins in your diabolical plans for colonization.

That's because that branch is too crowded, and so it had to be puffed up a little bit to fit all those teeny-weeny little languages in, Finnish included .

I never figured out the one thousand and one ways Westerners pronounce Chinese names anyway. Once in Paris, this old guy kept going on and on about a very large Chinese city called "Shong-gayee", and acted extremely surprised when it appeared I'd never heard of it in my life. It took me quite a while to figure out that it was actually Shanghai.
