Lets throw in another viewpoint. While it may be argued that abortion may be prudent from an individual standpoint, what does it say about a society that not only tolerates it under specific circumstances but also accepts it under more general circumstances?

Its about 4 Chinese women who migrated to the United States from China at the time the communists took over. It tells their life stories. 2 of those women lost babies in ways I won't go into here but if you aren't moved by this film and perhaps see all this in a bit of a different way then you are made of stone.

The Bible appears to endorse the use of an abortifacient for a woman suspected of being unfaithful:

Numbers 5:19-22 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse: But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband: Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell; And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

If the unfaithful woman was pregnant, what would a poison which causes "thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell" do to the fetus?

...Does it? Where? Are you referring to:

Genesis 38:8-10 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

Looks like God killed Onan for refusing to have sex with his brother's widow.
