More then dead, the whole US economy will collaspe much worse then japans did. All of greenspans micromanaging isn't going to stop the inevitable. As the baby boomers start dieing off and retiring they will withdraw huge amounts of money from the equity markets. Do you think the fed is going to start to really clamp down on the liquidity of the of the $ to shore up the $?

            "What exports"

Damn, that would have been my line.

GP: How about shutting down the 99 US state parliamentary bodies ?

I still don't think the US will do a full japan, but uncle Alan is working hard on it.

What I want to know is why Japan keeps throwing money at the dollar. Seems like a waste of money to me.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                      • £2 coins are far more common than they were a few years ago.

Their design looks remarkably similar to a certain European currency.

                        • When where £2 coins issued? Last time I was on the island was in 1997 and then I didn't see any.

On the one face of the Euro coins is a picture of the EU - including UK and Denmark Some time, we'll get you. Welcome.
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

                          • Wouldn't it have been cool if they had edited out UK, Denmark and Sweden on the Euro notes?
