They are going to be in CnC: Generals. So, I hope Westwood can make them fun.

IN the original Red Alert, IIRC, the US really doesn't even show up. It's Western Europe v. USSR.
      Isn't Tanya an American commando?

He's one of Stalin's advisors. GDI also is created by the Allies in the Allied campeign. RA2 isn't really related to the original C&C conquer though, since Tiberiam would have allready started infecting the world.

As for the Capital, it was supposted to be disturbing. The Russian NYC mission is even more disturbing in todays world, since your mission is to blow up the twin towers.

Also just to clarify, I think America went to war with Japan in the RA universe, since they had the USS Arizona in the Pearl Harbor mission.

The US did show up in red alert. You can tell because:

The soldiers in berlin have American (texan actually) accents.

therefore, the arizona was most likely from the RUSSIAN attack on Pearl Harbor, which ended with the heroic united states of america leading the invasion of Russia against the Red Menace.

Besides, if you look at the map, then the US had to be involved. Even as the allies, the Russians reach France, so you have industrial capability left untouched in... Britain and Spain? Not quite what's needed to beat the RUssians, I think.

I got sick of the series after Red Alert. The missions are too boring, the gameplay isn't that good either.

              Whatever floats your boat.

More proof that America was proboly fighting Japan during RA1 (although they might have sent some help to the Allies) is the Iwa Jima memorial in the first Russian mission, why would we have it if we weren't in a war with Japan?

In the original she's an English civillian. In the sequal she's an American commando.

Red Alert 1 (unless I'm mistaken) the two military officials are French and Germans and Tanya's English, representing the 3 main Western European powers.

You can't play as the Americans in Red Alert 1. In Red Alert 2 you only play as the Americans (though you can play as the British, French, Germans, Koreans, etc in skirmish mode).

There are a couple of mistakes in the series. One I noticed was that Germany always has post-WW2 borders, even though Germany never declared war as WW2 didn't happen.

Also, in the add-on they are planning a secret meeting of world leaders - IN THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT?! Hmm, very inconspicious

One thing I did notice was that playing as the Russians, the last 3 main countries to fall to the Soviets are Britain, India and Australia. What are they trying to suggest?

You can also get an idea as to the time period the second is set, as the US president seems very much like Ronald Raegan and the British PM is a Margaret Thatcher lookalike.

Actually, in that mission, you can alternately occupy the twin towers, at which point you will be able to see the entire map.

Hmmm, maybe I should get RA2 . Even though I suck at RTS, if I can get it cheap, should be fun for a laugh .

RA2 was pretty easy, considering I suck at RTS (probably even more then Imran here ) and I played it through in a couple of nights. Of course it was in loan, I'd never put my cash on an RTS.

And RA2's Allied campaign was worth playing to the end just because of the ending FMV.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

This game is pretty damn easy......theres no "finese" at all.....the formula is the same for every mission: defend against a zillion infantry units which you mow down, then build 50 of the new unit for this map, and attack the enemy....rinse repeat.
