Sorry, but all the ones you mentioned are crap.

    I like Seinfeld.

Where's Red Dwarf? The early years were sitcom to the MAX!
"Love the earth and sun and animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown . . . reexamine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency" - Walt Whitman

                HEY, it's The Nanny.

And I have to agree with, um, whoever. Seinfeld was named as the number one show of all time by TV Guide, I think it probably deserves a slot (and definitely much more than The Nannny).

edit: I see that you have already realized your mistake. Sorry...

Even if you think it was overrated, you've got to admit it was a good show (all except the finale).

My top three sitcoms ever are Seinfeld, Fresh Prince in Bel-Air and Spin City (pre-Charlie Sheen)

                        Not on the list:

                        Will & Grace
I Love Lucy (still a classic)
                        Night Court

Kudos for mentioning Soap, though! That's the best one on the above list!

Also, the Drew Carey Show is pretty funny.

                        No Simpsons?!

Does the Stooges count as a Sitcom?

DOH! times two, Drew Carey is one of my favourite sit coms... I´ve also forgot Sabrina- Teenage Witch... (Caroline Rhea )

Will & Grace I never really watched, I love Lucy IS a classic (and a helluva lot funnier than Beverly Hillbillies) Night Court I´ve never heard of...

Soap is a genuine classic. I watched it when it was aired on swedish TV in the late 70´s. I didn´t get it then, but still...

Simpsons could be considered sit-com, but then you´d have to include South Park and Futurama also.

Stooges isn´t really sit-com per se, but it´s funny as hell (at least the few episodes I´ve found on the web)

Taxi is another classic that didn´t qualify, and i´m sure there´s still a bunch I forgot.

                          Arrghh...to...few...options...must..have...more... .sit-coms...

                            How about "Home Improvement"?
"Soap" was terrific, but sadly didn't last very long.
There was a "Soap" sequel called "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" that was good its first season, but then turned just wierd.
"Taxis" was another great one that I'm glad someone added to the list.
"MASH" should be on the list.
                            "St. Elsewhere" deserves mention.
                            Hooray for "Night Court".
"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

Home Improvement Can´t stand Tim Allen...

Soap did last for three years but got quite dull at the end IMO. Wasn´t there a spin-off starring Robert Guillaume called "Benson" also?

MASH... another great sit-com that didn´t qualify but should´ve

Ditto for "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Caroline in the city", "Golden Girls", "Murphy Brown", and possibly "Crazy about you" and "Mork & Mindy"

                              Agghh...sit-com...overload....danger Will...Robinson...danger...
