Russia in ten years

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Kalliningrad should belong to Lithuania by now according to the Postdam treaty. What I dont understand why dose the baltic mean so much to the russians? I mean they are the bigest country in the world.
You could argue that:
1. It should go to Russia as war bounty
2. Should go to Germany cause they ran the place for the last 600 years and that is where the modern German state arose from, pretty much.
3. It should go to Lithuania as the original inhabitants and the roots of Lithuanian culture are from the ancient Prussians that lived there - plus before Russia occupied it, Lithuanians were the most populous nationality in that area - now they're not, due to Soviet genocide and colonisation by ethnic Russians.Originally posted by Serb:Please, remind me, how exactly and when exactly, Russia bullied its neighbors?

Hochdeutsch ist jedenfalls nicht plattdeutsch.
Trias was relevant during the austro-prussian dualism, so from about 1750-1866. There isn't just a territorial almost identity between the BRD 1949 and the german "third" states, but also in the constitution. The Grundgesetz has more to do with Frankfurt 1849 than with 1871 or Weimar. And Frankfurt was related to the (mostly south) german state constitutions adopted after 1814.

Yeah, Paulskirche and the like. I actually possess a wall poster with some copy of that constitution, at least an excerpt of it, about human rights. Appears pretty progressive. What is the Austrian constitution of today based on? IS it the same as in the time from 19-38?
Plattdeutsch war gar nicht der Punkt. Aber wenn BAyern und Österreicher 2/3 der Vormacht ausmachen, dürfte der Einfluss des Dialekts auf den gesamten Sprachraum gefährlich groß sein
