Americans (why do some people insist on calling them Yanks?)

But to go to the real subject, my favorite is Italy, followed by Argentina and France.

      England... BWAHAHAHAH

I think this could be Argentina's year. I've heard nothing but good things about them. If they falter look out for France.. Portugal might surpise this year as well.

Surely "Football" was invented in England during the late 19th century (yes I know in other forms it was played before then) and thats when the term was coined.

PS. England are gonna win the World Cup....................
Yanks insist to call Football with the word soccer because they already have a sport called football, that sport is like rugby for pussies who wear a lot of protection.

Ps:Argentina will win, and we will defeat you.!!

Argentina only wins with help from "the Hand of God."

Gotta laugh out of that one. Someone told me yesterday, that the in US High Schools the ratio of cheerleaders/pom pom squad injures to football player injuries is almost 10:1 so who are the real men

Why do girls want to be cheerleaders? Don't have a personal experience of them but each time I see some crappy american highschool TV-show the evil ***** that runs the school is always a cheerleader while the rest act as stupid bimbos. One would think that in a land where so many youngsters watch so much TV cheerleaders would be all but extinct by now....

Brazil will not win anything. Neither Argentina.

It is interesting how Americans call their American Football with the word Football, considering it is a sport where you hardly touch the ball with your feet...
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Rugby football is a football too... and so is Aussie Rules. So it would figure our rugby evolved sport is football too .

World cup wont be won by any european side.

The conditions just won't be right? I'm tempted to put a bet on South Korea!

I think the best teams this years are: (in order)

                        Argentina, Italy, France and England.

England was really unlucky cause they lost all their midfielders due to injuries, If they didn't I would have ranked them before Italy

The trick is the doing something else."

France is never at a set place. It's always at a random place, and usually this place moves according to the reverse of common opinion about the strenght of the team (read : the more you think they'll win, the more they'll tend to loose, and the same for loosing).

Maybe if you count broken nails as an injury... Tennis is a sport with a high injury rate (turned ankles and 'tennis elbow'), it doesn't mean it's a rough sport though.

I don't know who will win the WC. But the score will be (suprise) 1-0.

The thing about soccer is, the games are tooooo long. 90 minutes of kicking the ball around is way too much. I think it should be sudden death. First team to score wins. Every game!
