OK... at this time you guys have to sit back and tell your self it is just a movie. Im a canadian and i don't like to see the american flag everywhere i look, but if its made in america, let them show off thier flag all they wan't. And its only like 5 seconds so just close your eyes and plug your ears. Go to a happy place or something (6)

Good god, this thread shoulda been nipped in the bud. An American flag is on the top of just about every building, at least here in DC.

We have American flags everywhere. Everywhere. And where we don't have American flags, we have bunting! This is good. It's a nice flag!
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I think it would have made for a much better movie if at the end it zoomed in on the Canadian flag flying high over the whitehouse... you know, one of those cliffhanger endings!

                      • I think the flag had more to do with post-September 11th New York pride.

I mean, that movie required MASSIVE editting because the whole ending sequence with the Green Goblin (I have been told) took place on the twin towers. It was, in reality, supposed to be out months ago.

Hey, I'll admit it, when the New Yorkers were out on the bridge, I was clapping! I didn't care much about the patriotism stuff, but the New Yorker stuff was good all the way!

I truly believe that America is the world's second chance. I only hope we get a third...

                        • I didn't mind the flag so much, especially compared to the impossibly long and actually physically painful love scene in the hospital...

Put all the flags you want in there, I don't care. But please, for all our sakes, can't we just once and for all separate out all the 'gratuitous romance' from good decent action flicks? (not to be confused with 'gratuitous nudity', however. I'm all for that. No movie has ever suffered because of too much nudity, except possibly that weird danish movie a few years ago.).

                          • The flag is in there because originally, he was going to be on top of the world trade center.

                              with or without a flag?
