Check the skiing reports in Hell--I'm agreeing with Imran twice in two days!!

I hear it's snowing heavily and there is lots of good skiing available!

How did this get on the 3rd page
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I'm not really concerned about the diff between a #1 and #2. I'm more interested in like the first 20 then the next 20, etc. In general I was pretty much in agreement. TNG vs TOS was a bit of a surprise. The soprano's that high was a bit of a stretch.
And while I think Cheers, MASH, DVD all could have laid claim to #1, Seinfeld isn't that bad of a choice. Never been a big fan of 60 minutes though.

St. Elsewhere? The immensely awful 80s hospital schlock? Good gawd.

I wonder how they pick this. But then from my limited experience I would have problems even finding 50 shows good enough to put on a list.

            The Man from U.N.C.L.E.!

My guess is that a few of the voters were from my generation.
As schlocky as the show was, it was one of our favorites when we were kids. We used to argue who would be Napolean or Illya in our imaginary adventures. A kids version of 007. People just having happy memories. Stupid tripe, but we sucked it up.

Swedish television has been doing reruns late on weekday nights for several years. Brilliant kitch 60s stuff. Especially Illya Kuryakin, perfect combination of Clint Eastwood and Peter Lorre.

I'm surprised Buffy made the list. I like it, but no one else I know does.

I'd bump Cheers and M*A*S*H up quite a few spots, and Seinfeld down a bunch.
"THE" plus "IRS" makes "THEIRS". Coincidence? I think not.

                  --"And Seinfeld is #1!"

No surprise, considering how poor TV Guide's taste is.

--"1 drama in the top 10"

Yeah, it's a pretty wonky list. Makes you wonder a bit, but then again, there's a reason I don't buy TV Guide.

--"Yeah, that's why it's one of the longest running shows still airing."

In the US. If you want a long-running show, check out some stuff like Doraemon. Over fifteen hundred episodes. It's been running for decades.

Besides, what does that prove? Length is no indication of quality. It just means it gets run into the ground (a-la Simpsons and M*A*S*H), and there wasn't much to Friends in the first place.

I love Buffy. Its easily my favorite show (which is good, as I can pay attention to only one show at a time.)

I've never even heard of half of those. How many didn't even make it out of the States? There's a sure sign of quality.

Well, about Buffy... one of the criteria was influence of the show.

Yeah... we keep the good stuff for ourselves and export great "hit" shows like baywatch...

That's for sure. Don't forget, some of the daytime soaps have been on since before color TV.

Near the end of ST-TNG is was rated in the top 5. I do not think it is now only 46.
