Le Pens victory shows that the silent majority wants the Death Penalty and they dont like the way the EU is going.

As to the Protests, I wonder where they were on Election day complaining that the Election is to boring. I guess its not boring now is it?

Many people in the protests were sure there was no need to vote Jospin at the first round, as it was sure he'll be at the second round. Many didn't vote at all, many others voted for a small candidate (trotskyist or "sympathetic") while they didn't have big ideological differences with Jospin, thinking they'd vote for him at the second turn, when it matters. At last, some voted Jospin (16 % of the voters, more than 12% of the French).
Sure, the non-Jospin-voters-who-wanted-too look stupid now. Maybe it'll be a lesson.

Maybe they'll give back Elsaß-Lothringen by their own. It's foreigners anyway Perhaps we even can arrive at the Holy Roman Empire in the borders of 1500. Just make sure we get the right Austrian H for president (i. e. Habsburg, not Haider or Hitler). Oh no, the Habsburg are Swiss, not Austrian. Maybe we could have some German Helmut (Schmidt, Kohl, ...)
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

Are you sure ? We have one the most high birth rate in europe ...

LePen is a blatant lier. Removing right for abortion will not increase birth rate. Increasing social structure for mothers and after will do it.

And yes I allow germany to invade us if LePen win ... (Damn, they know how to do it now !)

Even if Le Pen wins, France won't leave the EU. The parliament will never let that happen, and the President does not have the power to do it alone.

The positions in the parliament currently reflect the elections of 5 years ago, so it'll change next elections (in June).
Currently, the Social democrats are very strong, but need a coalition with the Communists (39 representatives IIRC) and the Greens (8 representatives I think) to have an absolute majority at the parliament.
As the CP collapsed, the socialists lost voices, and the green didn't progress either, it's possible that the next parliament will be very different. It's not impossible we'll have a right-left coalition.

similar here... but then, both the christian democrats (consies) and the liberals (damn burgeois guys) are in a popularity upswing, so a burgeois coalition is the most likely, although I would prefer a grand coalition, ca veut dire (damn cedrille, how do I get it done?) social democrats and consies. but that doesn't seem likely nowadays

                        Echtelion :
You can't write a cédille with a QWERTZ keyboard. German students in France hate that. You have to run C:\windows\charmap.exe.
It's likely you'll have to install it though. For this, you'd have to
                        - go to the control panel
                        - choose "install - uninstall program"
                        - then choose the "Windows installation" tab.
                        - There, double click on "system software"
                        - and choose "special characters".
                        - Insert Windows CD.
Voilà ! Now you can write cédilles ! (sorry, as I'm using a french OS, I can't tell the exact names in English nor in German)

And we French can write cédilles with a single key ! Muahuahuahua !

don't you know the ASCII code out of your head?

anyway, I've got a character map in my tables, and an old one of those right on my desk so I could just look it up... can't be arsed though

So, if LePen wins... does this mean Britain gets to invade and "Take back" Calais?

At one point the English crown had control of the entire north of France. We've been at each others throats ever since. Personally I think a metaphorical repeat of Agincourt would be a nice end to the story.
