Natan, it is well documented that palestinians in the early 20'th century wanted a nation of their own. That they wouldn't mind sharing it with other arab subgroups is a different question.

Cyber, either they wanted their own nation or they wanted to be part of a larger Arab nation - but one or the other, not both. You can't want both independence and annexation.

The point is that palestinians have existed as a concept for at least 200 years... Regardless of whether they wanted to have their own nation or not.

Can you show me the references to this concept in the early 1800s then? The term "Palestine" is itself a borrowed word in Arabic.

I am not "a representative for the people of Israel," but yes, I don't think it matters particularly whether the Palestinians as a distinct nation came into being in 60, 1860, 1960, or 1996.

Why am I not surprised people like Sharon actually get elected, but then, as a matter of fact, in his election victory he got about as much votes as Netanyahu got when he lost, so it's all about the population getting tired of fat men playing war.

a little amusing part of the justification of the settlements are that they should be re-settlements of areas that where lost earlier due to the war in 1948. (I know one of the Israelis here used that one).

Kind of gets problematic if the pals would like to get equal opportunity to re-settle...
